One way Colonial Pipeline is demonstrating its commitment to excellence in contractor safety is through the re-launch of a Contractor Portal on its external website. The portal can be accessed at colpipe.com/contractors and provides Colonial contractors with streamlined access to safety information in a state-of-the-art, mobile-friendly platform.
“Colonial Pipeline’s highest priority is ensuring that day-to-day operations are safe for employees, contractors, the general public, and the environment. We are relentlessly focused on workplace safety,” said CEO Joe Blount in a Jan. 9 statement. “Through harnessing the power of technology, we are able to provide our contractors with enhanced access to important information that can keep them safe on the job, reduce risk and improve communication.”
The website is designed to further promote the importance of safety to Colonial contractors by providing access to guidelines, upcoming contractor events, downloadable safety shares, contractor safety performance metrics, Colonial contacts and more. A feedback loop from contractors to Colonial facilitates an environment of continuous improvement.
Colonial is also launching a new contractor safety recognition program to identify and reward contractors who are leading the way as allies in Colonial’s commitment to excellence in safety. As the operator of the nation’s largest refined products pipeline system, Colonial integrates best practices in safety into every element of operational and occupational processes.
Colonial Pipeline Co., founded in 1962, connects refineries – primarily located in the Gulf Coast – with customers and markets throughout the Southern and Eastern United States through a pipeline system that spans more than 5,500 miles. The company delivers refined petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, home heating oil, and fuel for the U.S. military. Colonial is committed to safety and environmental stewardship across its operations.
