“The addition of SMS Equipment to our dealer network demonstrates our intent to build market share in Canada, providing more customers with greater access to our RT9 crawler carriers and the unmatched product service and support that comes with the Terramac brand,” said Mike Crimaldi, CEO of Terramac LLC. “With their product knowledge and experience, SMS Equipment can provide superlative support to our customers.”

As one of Canada’s leading providers of equipment solutions and services for the construction, forestry, mining, and utility industries, SMS Equipment holds a unique position in the industry as a one-stop supplier of the most complete range of equipment. As a Terramac dealer, SMS Equipment provides sales, rentals, applications expertise and parts and service support for the Terramac RT9 crawler carrier throughout Canada.

“SMS Equipment is honored to be chosen as the first distributor to bring the Terramac brand into Canada,” said Bruce Knight, president and CEO, SMS Equipment. “The Terramac RT9 crawler carrier is an ideal complement to our current product offerings and we are eager to help Terramac build awareness in the Canadian marketplace.”

The rubber tracks and low ground pressure (5.1 psi when fully loaded) allow the multi-purpose Terramac RT9 crawler carrier to cover a variety of ground and adverse weather conditions. The machine has been customized to fit more than 15 different industry specific applications to tackle a variety of jobs, including suppressing tailings dust on mines, holding welding equipment for oil and gas pipelines, and laying dirt in environmentally sensitive areas for general construction.

Made in North America, the RT9 can be ordered from the factory with the correct body configuration to accept custom accessories. Additional options for the RT9 include a back-up camera, bed lights, radio, flat bed, dump bed, track cleats and an engine filter kit.

With an operating weight of 26,000 lbs (11,794 kg) and a maximum carrying capacity of 18,000 lbs (8,165 kg), the RT9 is the largest mid-sized rubber track carrier that does not require special oversize permitting to transport the machine. Equipped with a 230 hp Cummins diesel engine in both open- and closed-cab options, the RT9 has rollover protective structure (ROPS) as well as falling object protective structure (FOPS) components.

Terramac and SMS Equipment offer a wide range of parts and accessories available for purchase, as well as replacement parts such as rubber tracks, expendables and undercarriage parts (including rollers, sprockets, idlers and travel motors). Parts are in stock and can be delivered quickly to minimize downtime.
